Astilbe is a wonderful addition to the shadier garden. Plants bloom with plumes of pink, red lavender or white flowers in mid summer. Foliage is shiny and often tipped with red, very attractive.
Must be kept moist, in well drained soil or they will be short lived.
Grow to 18-24 inches, space 18 inches apart.
Astilbe pair well with hosta and ferns.
