Bellflower
Latin name: Campanula
Sun or Shade: Sun to part sun.
Drought Resistant? No.
Perennial? Yes.
Hardiness Zone: Most varieties 4-10

Campanula has several popular varieties, including the old fashioned Canterbury Bells, and the edging plant "Blue Clips".

Most Campanulas are blue, white, or pink in color, and have bell shaped flowers held on stalks over basal foliage. A few are low growing edging varieties, and are suited for containers.

These plants are not big fans of heat, so afternoon shade may be necessary.

Blooms late spring to mid summer, usually for several weeks, although the "Blue Clips" and related varieties can bloom all summer.
