Free Gardening Plants
By Chris Cangialosi
Can you really have free gardening plants?
Yes - You bet you can! Just read on...
You know there are lots of things in life to marvel at. The rising of the sun. The birth of a child. Space travel. Yup, they're all marvellous! But if you are a gardener there is nothing more marvellous in life than to see a seed that you have sown with your own fair hands burst into life. Pushing it's first leaves through the compost and reaching for light. Then watching it's pale fragile stem appear followed by it's first true leaves and then successfully growing on to maturity, and all helped by you. Or a cutting you have taken from a treasured plant that magically roots. And then watching it grow on to be just like its parent, and all helped by you.
Now that's marvellous!
And here's something else to really marvel at...
You can do all this for free! You can have free gardening plants, for life! And guess what? It's really all quite easy. How about this? From just one fuchsia you can take as many as thirty to fifty cuttings, root them and grow them on to maturity. With little effort you have thirty to fifty new fuchsias, all for free! And! You still have the original fuchsia. Now that's what you call free gardening plants.
And it doesn't just stop at fuchsias. Herbes, geraniums and loads of others can be had for free too. Do this with two, three, four, five plants and do it every year, how many plants will you have? You do the math! And all for free. It's not difficult either. Whether you are sowing seeds, taking cuttings, dividing, layering or grafting. Most propagation is quite easy. Once you know how. You don't need a degree in botany, horticulture or science. You don't need to be a professional gardener. You don't even need to be an amateur gardener. All you need is an interest in gardening and the desire to propagate free gardening plants! And the right know how.
There is no secret to any of this, but there are tricks of the "trade". And they are real easy "tricks". Collect seeds from your own garden plants after they have finished flowering and sow them. You will have hundreds, thousands of new plants, all raised by you and for next to nothing or usually for free. Collect seeds from your friends, neighbors and family gardens to boost your own stocks. There's loads of plants you can divide, just dig them up, divide the plant in to several pieces and replant them, again you have free gardening plants. Dividing plants is so easy.
Layering plants is even easier and there's plenty of plants you can do this with. Growing your own plants year on year for little or no cost will save you a small fortune. But the best part is you have grown all these plants yourself and that's a real joy to marvel at. You don't need to break the bank to start with either. No specialised tools or equipment are needed. All you need are a few basic tools and some basic equipment. Most of these can be picked up for pennies at boot sales and yard sales. Even if you buy all the basic tools and equipment brand spanking new it will not cost you a fortune. Most hardware stores, garden centers, nurseries sell them at affordable prices. So, growing your own gardening plants from seed, cuttings, division, grafting or layering, all collectively known as propagating, is easy and cheap or free to do?
Yes, but only if you have the right and best advice!
