Yarrow
Latin name: Achillea
Sun or Shade: Sun, can take some part shade.
Drought Resistant? Yes, once established.
Perennial? Yes, some also self seed.

Info: Yarrow is one of our favorite sun perennials, available in several varieties. Most are drought resistant, with ferny grayish green foliage and a flat headed flower. Colors range from white to brilliant yellow to pink and red. My favorite variety is Parkers Yellow, and older variety that is somewhat tall, to 4 feet, topped with large flat headed bright yellow flowers from June until September. Make great dried flowers as well. Other popular varieties include Gold Plate, Cerise Queen and Colorado.

Yarrow is also an herb used originally by Native Americans to help with a variety of ailments, including fever.
