I love projects with garden rocks. I don’t know if it’s because they are such a natural element, or because they are all so different, or just because it’s like playing with adult legos… But I love them! We ran across all these creative garden ideas with rocks that any of you can do. Use something from nature and create useful and artful accents for your garden!

Love these ideas! Too bad I’m not still in the Northwest, where there were so many rocks, by the time you’d dug a hole for your garden and taken out all the rocks, you had to go *buy* dirt to put back in the hole! These towers and gabions (stone-filled wire structures) would’ve been all over my yard!
I think I’ll try my hand at the bird houses on the hardware-cloth stands, a la Michigan getaway above. What a creative idea!

Very nice work. Love the wire rock towers…the tower would be more stable if part of it were underground, rocks included. Love it.

Well it isn’t our project, but depending on the stone, a masonry or diamond drill bit would be our guess!

I’ve used a hammer drill with a masonry bit. Depending on what you’re drilling through, you may need several bits – especially if you buy cheap ones.
